IAR Testing Grades 3-8, HS ISA Testing March 2021

Last week, the Federal Government and the new US Secretary of Education ordered US schools to give state assessments after the majority of states requested this to be postponed until '21-22 school year. Illinois had requested a waiver from testing for Spring 2021 since 50% or more of Illinois K-12 students remain in remote learning only. That waiver request has been denied.
Heritage is prepared after hard work this week to begin testing as the test windows open as ordered by ISBE. Next week we will start with Junior High IAR testing, while HS ISA will begin the week after. Elementary IAR will start after JH IAR is completed, along with Grades 5-8 ISA.
IAR testing is all electronic, so no materials are required from home.
HS PSAT/SAT will take place in April on state assigned date.
DLM will also begin in the assigned window.
Further updates to follow as testing begins as ISBE updates have been frequent.
1 year ago today, Illinois K-12 Schools were ordered closed. 1 year later, Heritage #8 has completed 128 days of in-person learning with one snow day stopping our days in-session streak. On this significant day, we thank our families, parents, students, teachers, and staff!

Heritage 8th Grade JH Volleyball IESA Regionals will be played on Friday, March 12th at home 4:00 PM against Shiloh. GOOD LUCK GIRLS!
Unfortunately IESA will not allow spectators for the tournament, but we will have stream available for the game Friday.

Heritage Schools K-12 & Spectrum Pre-K students will have a snow day Tuesday, February 16, 2021. JH Games scheduled for tomorrow night ar cancelled. Determination for Heritage School Board meeting for in-person or all virtual for Tuesday night will be made tomorrow afternoon.
JH Boys Basketball for tonight 2/15 at Salt Fork has been cancelled due to weather. Any decisions for school day Tuesday 2/16 will be made later and we will utilize our Apptegy app, phone, and text message platforms to notify everyone.
Heritage Schools has had 110 Days of In-person Instruction Consecutively today! It has been a monumental undertaking and thanks to our parents, students, teachers, staff, and Heritage community members, we have made it against the odds with COVID still a major concern for all schools and everyone in our country.
Thankfully for teachers and staff, vaccination efforts in our county have been comprehensive and numbers continue to drop in the county and around the US, but things aren't over yet. Some reminders as we enter a Valentine's Day 3-Day weekend with President's Day Holiday on Monday. We will see everyone back on Tuesday, February 16!

- If your child has any symptoms, call the school and have child stay home and we can advise on next steps
- Contact our school nurse DiAnne Boyd at 896-2421 ext 121 for any health questions or concerns, she stays in direct contact with the public health departments for guidance, reporting, etc
