Elementary/Junior High Announcements:
- The next JH Cross Country meet is scheduled for Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at Monticello at 9:00 AM. The Activity Van will leave from Homer ONLY at 6:45 PM. Good luck!
- The next JH GBB game will be played on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Georgetown at Mary Miller at 6:00 PM. The bus will leave from Broadlands at 4:30 PM and from Homer at 4:45 PM. Good luck!
- Picture Day is coming on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023. Picture forms have been handed out to students with extra forms available in the office. JH Sports pictures will also be taken for JH Baseball, JH Cross Country, and JH Girls Basketball with extra packets available in the office.
- The month of September will once again begin a new service project for Heritage Elementary/JH School. Caps for Cancer will take place each Friday in September. Students may wear a hat to school for $1.00. All money collected will go to the American Cancer Society.
- Elementary/JH Spirit Week Dress Up Days: Friday, 9/29 – Students wear your favorite Hawks wear or colors.
- The Junior High Boys Basketball team will be hosting open gyms from 3-4:15 PM for the next 2 consecutive Wednesdays, 10/4 and 10/11. An up-to-date physical must be on file in order to participate. No shuttles will be provided.
- PINK Night for our High School will be Oct. 10th. Shirt order forms will be in the office and available online at whitedesigns.shop.
Order your 2023-24 Little Hawks yearbook now for $20. Order forms were sent home September 27th. You can order online at yearbookforever.com for $21.25. Please email Shelley Tison with any questions at shelley.tison@heritage8.org.
Reminders:
- NO vehicles are permitted in the circle drive where buses drop off in the morning or afternoon and you must stay in your car when dropping off in the drop off lane.
- If sending in snack or treats for a class, please remember no home-baked goods can be shared. All items must be pre-packaged and in store box containers.
- If your student will be gone for a doctor’s appointment, please have him/her bring a note from the doctor upon returning to school to show that they were there. Otherwise the absence will be marked unexcused by the school.
- Please remember that there is NO SMOKING/VAPING on school grounds, and that seat belts should be fastened properly around children as they are being picked up or dropped off on school property.
- Please remember to discuss with your student as to whether or not he/she will be eating breakfast/lunch that is offered at the school this year. Menus are available as needed.
- If you are needing to pick up or drop anything off to a student or staff member in the building, please make sure to call and make arrangements with office staff prior to doing so.
High School Announcements:
- Heritage will be hosting the first round of the LPC volleyball tournament on Monday (10/2). The first game begins at 5pm. Admission will be $5 for adults/$3 for students and senior citizens. Passes are NOT valid for the tournament.

- Homecoming Picture Order forms are in the office, there is no online order code.
- Fall pictures will be Monday, 10/2. The online order info is: inter-state.com/order. Code: 80115QB
- Parents: An email went out today from Mr. White with a link attached to sign up for Parent/Teacher conferences. You can open the link, find the teacher’s name on the bottom tabs, and sign up with that teacher for the time that works best for you. Conferences will be 10/10 and 10/11 from 3:30-6:30 pm.
- Shape Master in Ogden is having an open house from 8 am-8:30 pm on Friday, October 6th for seniors interested in manufacturing or engineering.
- There will be a Post Prom kickoff meeting on 10/8 at 6 pm in the HS Library. If you are a junior parent and are interested in helping plan the post prom activities, please come out to the meeting.
- PINK Night will be October 10th. Shirt order forms will be in the office and available online at whitedesigns.shop beginning next week.
- October 11 will be the ASVAB testing for all sophomores starting at 9am.
- October 11, Parkland will have a representative here in the library during HR. Any junior or senior interested in speaking with them are welcome.
- October 12, there will be a meeting for seniors during HR.
- October 17 will be PSA testing.
- October 20 will be College Application Day during English class.
- On October 31st, the Homer Rec Board is hosting a Halloween event from 4 PM-6 PM. Any student interested in helping, there is a sign up sheet in the office.
Reminders:
- Parents: Reminder! If your student is absent for 5 or more consecutive days for illness, they must have a doctor’s note to return to school, or the absences are considered unexcused.
- PARENTS: If you would like for your child to have access to Ibuprofen/Tylenol during the school year, please send in a bottle of what you approve for them to take with their name and dosage. I will keep it in the office and they can come and ask for it as needed. We will not have pain medicine on hand for students unless they bring in their own.
- Parents: If you are trying to make online payments in TeacherEase for lunches or other fees, please log-in to a computer to access TeacherEase. The TeacherEase app is not currently taking online payments.
- Lunch Reminder: Lunches at the HS are now 2.70 per lunch. HS lunches may be paid via cash or check at the school office. You may also pay for your student’s lunches through the TeacherEase app.
- Parents: Just a reminder that if your student will not be in school for the day, please be sure you are calling the office to let us know. Your student will be marked as unexcused absence for the day if we have not heard from you. Thank you.
