Elementary/Junior High Announcements:

  1.  JH Cross Country meet TODAY, Sept. 27th at Unity at 4:30 PM. Coach Montgomery will be driving the Activity Van with departure time to be announced. Good luck!
  2. The next JH Girls Basketball game will be played on Thursday, September 29th at Westville at 6:00 PM. Coach Wilson will be driving the Activity Van with departure time to be announced. Good luck!
  3. Fannie May sales end this week! All orders and money are due to Mr. Lee by Friday, September 30, 2022.
  4. Fall Picture Day was September 26, 2022. You may still order on line at the following address using the listed codes. INTER-STATE.COM/ORDER – For Elementary School (K-5) use 68979DB and for JH School (6-8) use 68978JB.  A picture re-take day will be scheduled at a later date.
  5. Caps for Cancer – This will be a Service Project at Heritage Elementary/JH where each Friday in September, students may wear a hat to school for $1.00. All money collected will go to the American Cancer Society.
  6. Packets were sent home with students with information about the upcoming PTC “Hawk Sleep Walk: Walk-A-Thon.” The Walk-A-Thon will be held during school on October 6th. If you have any questions, please feel free to email PTC at HERITAGEPTC@gmail.com.

Reminders:

  • Please be patient as we have recently switched school database systems. We are now using TeacherEase.  If you are unable to access your child’s account please contact the office for a paper copy.
  • NO vehicles are permitted in the circle drive where buses drop off in the morning or afternoon and you must stay in your car when dropping off in the drop off lane. 
  • If sending in snack or treats for a class, please remember no home-baked goods can be shared.  All items must be pre-packaged and in store box containers.
  • If your student will be gone for a doctor’s appointment, please have him/her bring a note from the doctor upon returning to school to show that they were there.  Otherwise the absence will be marked unexcused by the school.
  • Please remember that there is NO SMOKING/VAPING on school grounds, and that seat belts should be fastened properly around children as they are being picked up or dropped off on school property.
  • Please remember to discuss with your student as to whether or not he/she will be eating breakfast/lunch that is offered at the school this year.  Menus are available as needed.
  • If you are needing to pick up or drop anything off to a student or staff member in the building, please make sure to call and make arrangements with office staff prior to doing so.

High School Announcements:

  1. School pictures for fall were September 26th. You may still order online at inter-state.com/order using code: 68978SB
  2. Junior Parents: The first Post Prom meeting will be on 10/4 at 6 pm at the community library in Homer. Please check your emails for info on the garage sale for the first fundraiser on 10/1 and contact Jill Miller with any questions at 217-377-6108.
  3. There will be a college night held on 10/5 at 6 pm in the library for juniors and their parents.
  4. Fall Sports pictures will be on Wednesday, 10/19 at 3 pm at the HS. Use the following code to order online at inter-state.com: 69286KA
  5. The PSAT will be October 12th at 8 am.
  6. Any student interested in a career in teaching, Illinois State is offering a Future Teacher conference on 10/21. We will be taking a bus if there are enough interested. See Mrs. Knott for more details!

Reminders:

  • Lunch Reminder: Lunches at the HS are now 2.60 per lunch. HS lunches must be paid via cash or check at the school office. You may just send it in with your student to drop it off. Please DO NOT enter payments for HS lunches via My SchoolBucks. Thank you!
