Confirmed cases are communicated to the district by Champaign Urbana Public Health District
(CUPHD).  CUPHD will also direct the district on the quarantine
timelines for confirmed cases and/or exposures and the district has undertaken making quarantine phone calls as CUPHD has been very busy with cases in the county both at schools and general public.

Heritage Schools was informed by CUPHD that two school employees are currently
a positive case and one student was also positive. Heritage protects the privacy of students and employees according to both FERPA and HIPPA guidelines so case reports will not have specific identifying information unless we are directed by CUPHD for expanded communications.

Please continue to report and communicate with the main offices,
administration, and school nurse DiAnne Boyd when anything develops at
home including symptoms, possible exposures, and any testing outcomes.

Heritage Schools has been approved to administer and is awaiting shipment of the BinaxNow rapid COVID test (by parent consent) which can be used in the moment at school if a student or school employee has symptoms.

New aspect for COVID safety this new school year is that an
individual's vaccination status can effect the timeline and protocol for
handling school cases for both students old enough to get vaccinated
and employees. We will only ask vaccination status when necessary and
appreciate working with us to keep everyone safe and in school.
